When is someone at the top ( President Obama) going to step forward and acknowledge that AIG was no less a Ponzi scheme than were the Madoff antics.  In this case the people at the bottom are all of us.

It would also be nice if he had some sort of strategy to prevent the problem from occurring again.  That would start with immediately reverting to the regulations more as they were before all of the garbage done to us was legalized.

The argument that they must pay the bonus because they are contractually obligated is nonsense. I am not a Lawyer, but I believe that if a contract is unconscionable (click to look it up), then the courts can nullify it. 

Allocating blame should not preoccupy us for more than a week or so.  That should give AIG enough time to file the bankrupcy papers.
