Perspectives on Computing Equipment

I recently bought a 32GB flash drive for $40.  It has the storage capicity of about 22,000 of the old 3.5" "floppies". That would be a stack about 230 feet tall.

It used to be (~20 yrs ago) that hard disk storage was about $1/MB.  If they had been available, todays minimal hard drives (say 160GB) would have cost $160K.  Such disk drives go for less than $100 today.
