Perspectives on Computing Equipment
I recently bought a 32GB flash drive for $40. It has the storage capicity of about 22,000 of the old 3.5" "floppies". That would be a stack about 230 feet tall.
It used to be (~20 yrs ago) that hard disk storage was about $1/MB. If they had been available, todays minimal hard drives (say 160GB) would have cost $160K. Such disk drives go for less than $100 today.
Charity begins at 1600 Pensylvania Avenue
I propose that, as long as we are on this road, taxpayers should now be allowed to deduct half of their Federal Income taxes from the previous year as a charitable contribution. Since Barack,Nancy and Harry are making these contributions on our behalf, we should get the deduction.
To this plan I would add the proposal that in the next presidential election only taxpayers can vote. This could actually influence the outcome.

AIG was a very elaborate Ponzi Scheme
When is someone at the top ( President Obama) going to step forward and acknowledge that AIG was no less a Ponzi scheme than were the Madoff antics. In this case the people at the bottom are all of us.
It would also be nice if he had some sort of strategy to prevent the problem from occurring again. That would start with immediately reverting to the regulations more as they were before all of the garbage done to us was legalized.

My Stimulus Plan
Simple. This is a dead serious proposal.
There are approximately 300 million people in the USA . About 150 million adults, half of whom pay taxes. That's about 75 million taxpayers. A much better way to allocate a trillion dollars would be if every taxPAYER gets a check for ~$13,000. We can do a lot better deciding how to spend our money than Ms. Pelosi & Mr. Reid. People would spend it, bank it, or pay down debt; all of which would get the desired effect - quickly. The result would be far more effective than the joke of a plan coming out of Washington.
