Simple Lessons
This morning I was reminded of two things.
No matter how hard I push the buttons.:
1) Phone calls cannot be made from the TV Remote Control.
2) The office door will not open with the car's remote key device.
Upon sharing these insights with friends and family I was reminded
that the volume button on the remote has no effect on how loud
your companion speaks.
The State of Programming Today
Disgusting. They have created tools such that any idiot can write a program. The inevitable consequence of this is that there are a bunch of idiots out there writing programs. Sorry.
Programming today is not what it once was. It used to be that a programmer had to understand what they were doing.
Todays young programmers write code as if memory, processor cycles and disk space are all free and infinite.
One of the most obvious and familiar examples is any Norton retail product.
Where Does Barack Obama Stand?
Seriously! Somebody fill me in. I simply do not see the magic.
(And please do not start by telling me that Sarah Palin was a poor choice as John McCain's running mate.)
401k & IRA Seizure proposals in the air
Proposals are being laid out for government "seizure" of 401k & IRA accounts. Apparently it may not actually be our money. Who knew?

Election Thoughts & Nightmares
Some of my random observations on The Election, Obama in General and other stuff:
I do not expect that Barack Obama (aka Barry Soetoro) will live up to the hype. But let him have at it. Maybe it will work out well. I doubt it, but who knows. In truth, we have no idea who we have elected. Everything about Obama's past is off limits. So, we are in for some surprises. As well as some disturbing yet very predictable stuff.
